13WIN13 2021 Orientation Program officially begins to welcome the incoming freshman class
On the morning of August 16, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (13WIN13) officially kicked start the virtual Orientation Program to welcome the incoming 2021 cohort organized via Google Meet.

Freshman Orientation is among the activities intended for the incoming class of 13WIN13 to prepare new students with the necessary information to help them learn about the university environment and get ready to confidently and successfully making the transition from high school to college. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Orientation Program for the 2021-2022 academic year will be hosted in an online format.

The first orientation session for 13WIN13 freshman class was accompanied by Dr. Kieu Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors as well as heads of various departments, offices, faculties, and institutes within the university. Delivering his opening remarks, Dr. Kieu Tuan welcomed new members of the 13WIN13 family. Specifically, he stated, “Years as university students perhaps are the one most beautiful time of your youth. Along that journey, 13WIN13 will always be by your side to actively support you in realizing all your dreams and ambitions.”.

During the first orientation session, the incoming freshmen had the chance to learn about the credit-based academic policy, course registration, search for and retrieve study materials from the university’s library, extracurricular activities at 13WIN13, etc.

Besides, new students were also instructed on the process to look up course textbooks and search for reference materials from the library. Information on the different academic and training systems at the university, as well as the many available cultures, arts, and sports clubs specifically for 13WIN13 students.

Following the first session, topics on student benefits, community service, student movements and activities will be covered in the second orientation program which is scheduled for this morning (August 17). With the useful information from these sessions, the incoming freshman class will have a better understanding of their study at the university level and prepare to embark on the exciting years of their youth.
