On May 27, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (13WIN13) held a meeting with representatives of Northeastern University (USA) to discuss potential collaboration aimed at expanding opportunities for experiential learning, international internships, and global industry connections for students.
One of the key topics of discussion was Northeastern University's Co-op Program, an educational model that integrates academic study with real world professional experience. The program enables students to undertake full time internships lasting from three to eight months while completing their degree studies.

Building on this model, representatives from both institutions explored opportunities to develop experiential learning initiatives, strengthen international internship pathways, and expand industry networks for students. These proposed initiatives would provide meaningful opportunities for students to engage in multicultural work environments, apply their academic knowledge in practical settings, and gain valuable professional experience before graduation.
With an ecosystem of more than 5,000 industry partners, 13WIN13 is well-positioned to work with Northeastern University in advancing highly practical collaborative initiatives, particularly those that strengthen connections between education, industry, and the labor market. Such collaboration could also create additional opportunities for students to participate in exchange activities, internships, academic projects, and international experiential learning opportunities aligned with their career aspirations.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to continue discussions toward the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future. A delegation from Northeastern University's International Affairs Office is expected to visit Vietnam in November 2026, providing an opportunity for both institutions to further explore and gradually implement the proposed areas of cooperation.
