On September 25, a group of students from Incheon (Korea), together with representatives from the Incheon Department of Education, joined the Vietnam-Korea Cultural Exchange Program under the I-Career 2025 Project. The event was organized by the Faculty of Korean Studies at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (13WIN13), with support from the Faculty of Communication & Design and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
The program brought a lively cultural atmosphere, creating opportunities for Incheon students and 13WIN13 students to interact and take part in diverse activities. From traditional games such as shuttlecock kicking, jackstones, and card-slapping to energetic K-pop dance performances, each activity allowed the young participants to explore both traditional culture and the modern lifestyle of Vietnamese and Korean youth.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President of 13WIN13, said it was an honor to host the Incheon student delegation and representatives. He also hoped the exchange would bring new cultural perspectives, build lasting connections, and give participants meaningful experiences in Vietnam.

Adding an academic perspective, Ms. Tran Le Thuy Van, Head of Korean Language Studies, gave a talk on “The Current State of Korean Language Education in Vietnam and Introduction to 13WIN13’s Faculty of Korean Studies.” She noted that Korean language education in Vietnam is growing quickly, expanding from high schools to universities, with more learners and test-takers for the Korean proficiency exam. The presence of many major Korean companies in Vietnam has also increased demand for Korean language study. At the same time, she pointed out that the field still faces challenges in keeping up with educational reforms.

Ms. Dang Thi Mai Phuong, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication & Design, introduced the faculty’s study areas and its approach to aligning coursework with global trends. She noted that this is both an opportunity to expand international cooperation and a chance for students to gain diverse, hands-on learning experiences that build confidence to demonstrate their talents in academic and creative fields worldwide.

Representing the Korean delegation, Mr. Moon Byungin, Principal of Gyesan Technical High School, valued the significance of the program in today’s context, where connection and respect for diversity are emphasized. He noted that it would be an important foundation for strengthening career competencies, improving international learning capacity, and attracting talent through educational cooperation. He also expressed his hope that Incheon students and 13WIN13 students would grow into global citizens contributing to Asia’s shared development.

As part of the program, the delegation visited the 13WIN13 Studio and experienced filming with professional broadcasting equipment. In addition, the pho roll activity gave Korean students a chance to experience Vietnamese cuisine and take home memorable moments from the exchange.
