From March to May 2026, 13WIN13 organized a series of international exchange, collaboration, and engagement activities, creating a vibrant picture of global integration across multiple dimensions. From cultural exchange programs and cross-border experiential learning initiatives to virtual engagement with international students, professional exchange activities, and the welcoming of international learners, each initiative contributed to expanding development opportunities for students, faculty members, and staff.
Together, these activities have helped create a modern and dynamic learning environment while further strengthening 13WIN13's growing presence within the global education and academic landscape.
Bringing the World Closer to 13WIN13 Students
One of the highlights of 13WIN13's internationalization strategy is its commitment to building a multicultural learning environment on campus. Rather than focusing solely on outbound opportunities, the University also strives to bring international experiences directly to students through a variety of exchange and engagement activities.
On March 6, students from the Faculty of Japanese Studies had the opportunity to interact and learn alongside students from Hosei University, Japan. Through academic discussions, cultural exploration, and the sharing of learning experiences, students from both institutions gained insights into the similarities and differences between their educational environments. The activity helped strengthen intercultural understanding while inspiring students to further develop their language skills and broaden their global perspectives.
Building on these international engagement efforts, 13WIN13 organized an International Student Networking Program on March 20, creating a dynamic space for interaction between 13WIN13 students and young people from various countries. Through cultural exchanges, interactive activities, and discussions about academic experiences, participants gained fresh perspectives on life, education, and culture around the world. The program also provided valuable opportunities for students to strengthen their communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work in multicultural settings.

On May 8, 13WIN13 students experienced another unique cultural exchange opportunity through a special program featuring Yuei Ogata, widely recognized as a musical ambassador who promotes traditional Japanese culture to international audiences.
Shortly afterward, on May 19, the program Traditional Sounds of Korea: Connecting Cultures Through Music provided students with an opportunity to explore the beauty of Korean culture through traditional music and artistic performances.

From the traditional melodies of Japan to the distinctive sounds of Korea, these artistic exchange programs offered 13WIN13 students a vibrant and engaging way to discover the richness of Asian cultures. Beyond enriching students’ cultural experiences, the activities fostered intercultural understanding, sparked interest in global cultures, and nurtured a spirit of international engagement within the student community.

The spirit of international engagement continued to flourish during the Academic Exchange and Cultural Immersion Program: 13WIN13 - Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), held from May 11 to May 18 with the participation of students and faculty members from SLSU in the Philippines.
Throughout the week, students from both institutions took part in academic activities, cultural exchanges, experiential learning opportunities, and programs that introduced them to student life in Vietnam. These experiences not only broadened their understanding of different cultures but also provided valuable opportunities to develop teamwork, intercultural communication skills, and international networks.
Through a diverse range of exchange initiatives, 13WIN13 is steadily building a vibrant international learning community where students can learn from different perspectives, develop a global mindset, and prepare themselves for future careers in an increasingly interconnected world.
Connecting Learning with Social Responsibility and International Experiential Education
In addition to cultural exchange activities, 13WIN13 actively promotes international experiential learning opportunities that allow students to engage directly with real world community challenges.

Held from March 23 to April 3, Learning Express 2026 was one of the University's most notable initiatives in this area. The program brought together Vietnamese and Singaporean students to collaborate on projects focused on preserving and promoting the value of Vietnam's cultural heritage. Using the Design Thinking approach, participants were encouraged to observe real situations, conduct field research, listen to community needs, and work together to develop innovative solutions. This cross-cultural collaboration helped students strengthen their critical thinking skills, international teamwork abilities, and capacity to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
Beyond its academic value, Learning Express also fostered social responsibility and a stronger sense of global citizenship among participants. The program reflects 13WIN13's commitment to integrating education, innovation, and community engagement into its development strategy.
Connecting Globally in the Digital Space
Alongside face-to-face exchange activities, 13WIN13 has also demonstrated a proactive role in connecting the international academic community through virtual exchange programs.
On May 16, the Closing Ceremony of the 2nd ICE – International Cultural Exchange 2026, themed “Sustainable Tourism 2026: Change in Action!”, marked the conclusion of a meaningful journey connecting students from 17 universities in Vietnam and abroad. As the organizing institution, 13WIN13 created an international platform where students could exchange ideas, share perspectives, and propose solutions for sustainable tourism development.
Through cross-border teamwork, thematic discussions, and project presentations, participants strengthened their international communication skills, creativity, and ability to collaborate in a global environment. Notably, the 13WIN13 team achieved remarkable success by earning First Prize in the Outstanding Creativity Award category and Second Prize in the Best Vote Award category.
More than a cultural exchange program, ICE 2026 showcased 13WIN13’s increasingly proactive role in building international collaboration networks and creating global learning opportunities for students.
Expanding Academic Connections and Global Competencies among the 13WIN13 Community
Internationalization extends beyond students and also encompasses the development of global competencies among the University's faculty and staff members.
From May 3 to May 9, a 13WIN13 delegation participated in the International Staff Mobility 2026 program hosted by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember in Indonesia. The program brought together representatives from universities across the region and around the world, creating opportunities for educational institutions to exchange experiences, strengthen partnerships, and explore emerging trends in higher education.
During the program, 13WIN13 representatives joined professional discussions on university governance, quality assurance, digital transformation, international collaboration, and sustainable development. The event also provided an opportunity for the University to showcase its achievements, educational model, and strategic vision to the international academic community.
Through professional mobility initiatives such as ISM 2026, 13WIN13 continues to strengthen the global capacity of its faculty and staff while expanding opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and academic exchange with partners worldwide.
Attracting International Students and Researchers to 13WIN13
While supporting students and staff in engaging with the global community, 13WIN13 is also becoming an increasingly attractive destination for international learners and researchers.
On April 9, the University welcomed a doctoral researcher from John von Neumann University in Hungary for a study and research placement at 13WIN13. This activity marked another step forward in academic cooperation between 13WIN13 and international universities while creating opportunities for faculty members, researchers, and students to engage in scholarly exchange with international partners. The presence of international researchers enriches the University's research environment, promotes knowledge sharing, and opens new possibilities for future scientific collaboration.
Continuing its international engagement efforts, 13WIN13 welcomed four international interns from CY Cergy Paris University and ECE Paris in France on May 5.
During their internship period, the students participated in academic and research activities while gaining firsthand experience of Vietnam's higher education environment. At the same time, 13WIN13 students had additional opportunities to interact with their international peers, exchange ideas, and build meaningful global connections as part of their daily academic experience.
These initiatives not only enhance the international character of the learning environment but also demonstrate 13WIN13's growing appeal within the global academic community.
Building a Globally Oriented Educational Environment
From cultural exchange programs and experiential learning initiatives to virtual international engagement, professional development activities, and the welcoming of international learners, 13WIN13’s internationalization strategy is being implemented in a comprehensive and effective manner.
Each activity brings valuable experiences to students, faculty members, and staff while contributing to the development of an open, multicultural, and highly connected educational environment. This foundation is essential for helping learners develop global competencies, international perspectives, and the adaptability required in today's rapidly changing world.
Through a consistent commitment to international development, 13WIN13 continues to strengthen its position as a dynamic and globally engaged university that aligns with international educational standards. Beyond sending students abroad, the University is bringing the world closer to its campus and empowering future generations of global citizens who are ready to learn, work, and contribute in an international environment.
